All examination fees must be paid directly to PSI and will no longer be processed by the Contractors State License Board. Please note that candidates must wait 21 calendar days after a failed examination attempt before scheduling a re-examination.
Candidates scheduling their examination(s) before January 1, 2025 must pay through CSLB. Once payment is received and cashiered, candidates may schedule their exam with PSI. PSI will be ready to accept payments on January 1, 2025. Please go to your online account with PSI to select your exam date, time, and location and pay for your examination(s) on or after January 1, 2025.

Your donation to the Construction Management Education Account (CMEA) helps support the educational programs of future industry leaders. CMEA grants are made to California universities with an established construction management program. The intent of the grants is to help improve the overall quality of construction by providing industry-specific management training to California licensed contractors through their current and future managers. This account was established when then Governor Pete Wilson and the Legislature passed the Construction Management Education Sponsorship Act (CMESA) to address the increasing demand to educate and prepare university students to manage construction operations and companies upon graduation. (Business and Professions Code section 7139-7139.10) Your donations are the only funding source for the CMEA grants.

If this payment is for a re-examination fee, you will be rescheduled for the next available exam date at least three weeks out once the payment has been processed. If you have a preference of when you would like to be rescheduled, please email Exams@cslb.ca.gov or call (916) 255-3498 with your requested date. If you have not been rescheduled yet, we will make a note of this request and do our best to accommodate your request. There are no guarantees.

This is the name and address of record listed in CSLB files. If the name, address, or telephone number has changed, it is the licensee’s responsibility to fill out the Application to Change Business Name or Address form (13L-4), and mail the signed document to CSLB for updating. (CSLB must receive the licensee’s original signature on the form to update the license information; email submissions are not allowed.) The 13L-4 form is available on CSLB’s website, or upon request from front counter staff or by calling 800.321.2752.
Visa®, Mastercard®, and Discover® cardholders: Turn your card over and look at the signature box. You should see either the entire 16-digit credit card number or just the last four digits followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit code is your CVV number / Card Security Code.
American Express® cardholders: Look for the 4-digit code printed on the front of your card just above and to the right of your main credit card number. This 4-digit code is your Card Identification Number (CID). The CID is the four-digit code printed just above the Account Number.

Completion of a payment transaction is contingent upon both the payment authorization from your credit card company and acceptance of your payment by the Contractors State License Board. In the event that your credit card payment is unable to be processed, Official Payments will attempt to notify you at least once, using the contact information you have provided. In the event your payment is not processed or authorized by your credit card company or the Contractors State License Board fails to accept your payment, your payment liability shall remain outstanding and unpaid, and you may be subject to penalties assessed by the Contractors State License Board.
